I’ve been diligently working on Book II, titled“Past The Past,” of the series ever since I published Book I, About Time. “Past The Past,” takes up the story as Étienne makes the physical and spiritual journey back to the Château from Brittany and his time with the Old Man.
I’ll be blogging some teasers about the upcoming book throughout the summer, possibly hosting an online event (fingers crossed!). I intend to submit for publication sometime this coming Fall, so stay tuned!
I completed About Time, to find several chapters “left over,” as I realized they did not belong in the first book’s timeline. So, I had a good start for the next part of Étienne’s story. Pulling together what had come in fragments and without sequence was a labor of love over the last two years, and I hope you will enjoy it.
Past The Past, a phrase used by Édouard to refer to the human journey across many lives, captures Étienne’s “coming of age” period in this life. In it, Étienne is called upon to step up and respond to crises, to discover what it means to lead others and how to act decisively in the absence of his mentors’ guidance. He also falls in love and faces the delights and difficulties that come with it. And, in another part of the story, Étienne is confronted with the realization that the very nature of his soul is very different from what he’d thought.
I’ll be talking more about the book and its writing in this blog space, so check in from time to time.
